Peanut Photography

We are proud to announce a weird yet wonderful new member to our XnYStyle team… Mr Parmjit Singh from Peanut Photography!

After an awesome test shoot together with our gorgeous little man, Marley, we were excited to have Peanut Photography on board for upcoming shoots! What we loved about Parm was that he had similar ideas and concepts as us and wanted to create images out of the norm. If we are able to experiment with ideas, whats going on around us and make it into art, it will speak a thousands words.

A little message from Parm:

‘I wanted to meet new up and coming models, help them out in some way and also to shoot more edgier, progression shots of Asian women to show their different sides and diversity. Exploring identities and cultures was something I was interested in and therefore contacted Aman and Emine. We met on the streets of East London and they bought their guard dog along. I don’t blame them; after all I was a complete stranger. We sat and chatted for an hour. I chat a lot. I ate some food, they watched me eat then we hit the main streets. We spent an hour shooting in a smelly warehouse area that you see in the shots. It was quick but we had a great time and I think we got some cool results.

I am looking forward to working with the girls again soon. We want to create some cool, unique and out of the ordinary concepts which will inspire you and make you think differently. Lets bring news, history and art together to make something extraordinary.’

Every Fashionista must love the brand PrettyLittleThing! Well, they only went and created a competition looking for ‘three influential babes’ with a ‘killer sense of style and confidence’ to represent their brand… I know! Amazing right?!

The winner of the comp not only gets to create monthly features for the site, social media, emails and on the PLT Blog, but also recieves monthly clothing allowance.. okay, literally just died.

So, as a Fashion fanatic myself and totally into my styling etc, I had ago at creating my own unique look! I interwined my culture with modernism, and expressed myself using my surroundings and the boldness of the look. Of course I made sure I captured the true PLT image as well as having a lot of fun on the rooftop of my house!

This is what we got…

My passion for creativity was expressed here through movement, colour and my surroundings. At last, instead of writing (which I devote myself too), I was able to create a CV using just visual aspects. With positive thinking and hardwork, this is my chance to prove myself and share my love for the industry. However, whether or not I am successful in this competition, I had an awesome time creating these images!

X N Y:

On Saturday 14th May, 2016, we organised a photoshoot in an amazing location, situated in West London. Our Hair and Make-up was done by Kelly Rai, (full details below), and our brilliant photographer was Amit Gopeenauth who captured some great moments!

Unfortunately, we were unable to wear the designers beautiful bridal collection as she had lost contact with us while we were on the way to the shoot! That however, did not stop us from exploring the old mansion grounds we were in and still photographing the scenic views as well as having fun along the way.

Here are just some of the picture we took during the day – some professional and some just showing our true X n Y Style !

Covent Garden

Y –

As I clonked around Covent Garden in my boots, they eventually fell off which is why this picture was taken!- I wasn’t actually posing. But any-who, I was lucky enough to wear them again as the weather has been horrendous lately! We should be celebrating spring into summer, yet everyone is walking around wearing 10 layers of clothing and holding onto their thick bomber jackets as life support against the wind! If you think I’m exaggerating, I’m really not. Still, London is amazing to explore whatever the weather!

I was in Covent Garden for lunch and wore my new Miss Selfridge, grey blazer. The material of the blazer was thick and amazing. It wasn’t remarkably warm however, did a great job covering the back of my legs from any cold winds! My sunglasses were an added extra so that my eyes didn’t water, but after a while I took my contact lenses out…

This isn’t my greatest capture but here I am rocking my Geeky-Glasses look! My eyes haven’t been doing great recently and therefore I have been told to throw away my lenses and wear my glasses. It felt so weird wearing them in public after many many years, but I will have to get used to it.

A little advice for myself – wear your glasses with confidence!!

Thursday 24th March, 2016.

X officially had a 2 week break from work (Easter holidays), so what better way to spend the night than attending the Sean Paul Party at The Macbeth, Hoxton!

Considering we’re both crazy Afrobeat, Bashment, RnB & Dancehall freaks, this was perfect! Alongside Sean-de-Paul, they also played Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Major Lazor, Gyptian, Fuse ODG (who Y  saw in concert) and all the usual Hip-Hop bangers.

The venue itself has been a music and arts pub/bar for over 100 years! – and literally got ram-packed only after a couple of hours of arriving, (bearing in mind, we intentionally arrived fairly early for guaranteed entry!) Of course, we both ended up dancing on stage, so space to move around wasn’t an issue. 😉

The staff and people who attended were super duper friendly, which only added good vibes to our experience. Definitely a place to visit at least once!

X n Y Beauty:

We both aimed for a classic black and white theme with bold eye makeup and nude lips.
